The Entrepreneurship Center offers a variety of solutions for entrepreneurs. Our flagship program, the Cuyahoga Small Business Development Center (CSBDC) at the Urban League of Greater Cleveland offer a wide range of consulting services for small businesses in Cuyahoga County. In addition, the Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) provides outreach for the Ohio Department of Development into the minority business community to train, prepare and assist eligible companies in securing loans, bonds and contract opportunities, along with MBE/EDGE certifications. Our team consists of experienced and certified consultants that assist pre-venture, start-up and existing entrepreneurs take their business to the next level. Our goal is to develop programs that increase the success and profitability of small businesses by providing technical assistance, e-counseling, quality-based assessments, loan packaging guidance, and information on federal, state and local regulations and programs. Who sponsors it?The Entrepreneurship Center is part of a national program that represents a partnership between the National Urban League, the Urban League of Greater Cleveland and Stonehenge Community Development, LLC which is a subsidiary of Stonehenge Capital Company created to provide flexible forms of debt, equity and mezzanine financing to businesses located in low-income communities nationwide. The Minority Business Assistance Center is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Development. The CSBDC at the Urban League of Greater Cleveland is a consortium of the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, the Hispanic Business Association, and the Nance College of Business at Cleveland State University. Do I have to meet a certain set of standards to get help?Our program is designed to address a wide range of clients — from current business owners, to those that are contemplating starting their own business. No matter where you find yourself in the process The Entrepreneurship Center, the Cuyahoga Small Business Development Center and the Minority Business Assistance Center at the Urban League of Greater Cleveland can help. How can I get assistance with my business?Counseling is free of charge. There may be fees for training classes, seminars etc. Urban League Membership has its advantages. Urban League Members may attend select classes free of charge, and realize substantial discounts on various seminars. (Select Membership link for more information). Certified counselors are available for counseling by appointment Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am. – 4:30 pm. Limited evening and Saturday appointments are also available.
